Staller along with Robert Osborne, a journalist and host of Turner Classic Movies, were in a relationship for twenty years prior to the death of Osborne in the year 2017; it was Staller who announced the death of Osborne in the press.
The year 2006 was the time that Staller created Gingold Theatrical Group in 2006, which is a New York based theater company that performs works inspired by George Bernard Shaw’s humanistic precepts. They perform monthly script-inhand plays in New York City’s Symphony Space and stage off-Broadway productions and collaborate with a variety of New York educational programs.
Staller has directed six off-Broadway play by George Bernard Shaw for Gingold Theatrical Group: Caesar and Cleopatra (2019), Heartbreak House (2018), Widowers’ Houses (2016), Major Barbara (2014), You Can Never Tell (2013) and Man and Superman (2012). All productions have been filmed by the New York Public Library of Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.
