Deepak Parashar is one of the most popular and richest Actor who was born on April 2, 1952 in Pune, Maharashtra, India.
Deepak Parashar (born 2 April 1952) is an Indian actor and former model. He was a contestant on Bigg Boss in 2006.
In 1976, he was crowned very first Mr India/India Prince (A Personality Contest) along with Nafisa Ali as Miss India and Poonam Dhillon as Miss Delhi. He was a successful model for Vimal Suitings and for many years Super Bazar in New Delhi donned his photograph. In the early 1980s, Parashar took several Hindi cinema roles, including Sharaabi, Insaaf Ka Tarazu, Nikaah, Purani Haveli and Aap to Aise Na They. Till date Nikaah remains his best performing movie and Insaaf ka Tarazu one of the best supporting roles he played. In 2006, he appeared in reality TV show Bigg Boss, until he was evicted in the second week. He also appeared in Doordarshan TV serial Swabhiman as Mahendra Malhotra.
He was born in Pune, India on 2 April 1952 to Shobha and Vishvanath Parashar. He was married in 1985 to Sarita and has a daughter Radhika. In November 1986, Deepak was involved in a life-threatening boat accident in U.A.E. He had gone to the U.A.E. in Dubai to receive the Kala Ratan best actor award for his film “Nikaah”. During a boat ride he suffered the mishap when the boat overturned and killed two other passengers who were on it. Deepak’s left leg got stuck in the engines propeller. His calf muscle was ripped off and Deepak lost a lot of blood. Thankfully he was rescued and taken to Rashid hospital. There his leg was almost amputated as he had no feelings in his leg and the doctors feared he had gangrene. They finally realized it was the pain medication that was making his leg numb. Deepak was sent back to India where he slowly made a recovery and saved his leg from being amputated. A month later his daughter was born. His wife left him after accident with her 5 month old daughter. His father died in 1998 while his mother died in 1999 due to cancer. In 2016 he was too diagnosed with throat cancer but has been recovered after treatment. He also made the bold decision to announce that he was gay on the reality television show “Bigg Boss”.
