Harold Lovell is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on September 27, 1955 in St. John's, Saint John Parish, Antigua and Barbuda. Harold Lovell was Vice-President of the Guild of Undergraduates of the University of the West Indies. He was also General Secretary and then Vice Chair of the Antigua Caribbean Liberation Movement. Between 1990-1992, he was a member of the British Broadcasting Corporation’s (BBC), Advisory Council for Leicestershire in England. Lovell was elected the Minister of Finance and the Economy after his success in the 2009 general election.

He studied at the Thames Valley University, Middle Temple and became a Barrister.

Harold began his professional career at the Antigua Public Utilities Authority. In 1978, he entered the teaching profession with assignments at The Antigua Grammar School as well as The Antigua State College. Harold was arrested and beat during the pivotal teacher’s struggle of 1979. The Bird regime fired him for seeking justice.
