In his three first year in TCU, Schlossnagle coached four players who made it in All-America team: Robbie Findlay (Honorable Mention in 2004), Lance Broadway (1st Team in 2005), Jake Arrieta (2nd Team in 2006) and Chad Huffman (3rd Team in 2006).
On the 9th of August, 2003 Schlossnagle became the new head of TCU the baseball team that was just wrapping up its first season at the brand new Lupton Stadium. In his first season at Fort Worth, 2004, He directed his team of Horned Frogs to a then-school record of 39 wins and the Conference USA Tournament Championship, winning their first NCAA invitation since 1994. Between 2005 and 2006 they Horned Frogs won their second and third consecutive championships in conference tournaments (2006 was held in the Mountain West), which included two additional NCAA Regional appearances. They were able to finish second behind Jack Connell in all-time wins.
in 2002 Schlossnagle appointed head coach of UNLV. The following year he guided his Rebels to a 47-17 mark that included winning the regular season championship and conference tournaments for the Mountain West Conference, as also winning the Rebels’ their first NCAA Tournament bid since 1996.
Schlossnagle became the winningest coach in TCU baseball history on February 21, 2016, with his 518th win. He is the only coach to lead TCU to the College World Series, having led them to Omaha five times (2010, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017). During his tenure in Fort Worth, Schlossnagle has won three National Coach of the Year Awards, two in 2010 and one in 2016.
