She was an elected participant in the Wisconsin Assembly for the 71st District from 1998 to 2003.
Lassa was a candidate against Republican candidate Sean Duffy for Wisconsin’s 7th district in the US Congress, which is governed by the retiring Dave Obey. She was supported by Mike Tate, the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. Duffy defeated Lassa by a convincing performance in the general election.
Lassa was an elected member in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1998 until 2003. She ran successfully during 2003 to be a member of the Wisconsin State Senate and served in the State Senate until 2017.
