Mike Hohensee is one of the most popular and richest American Football Player who was born on February 22, 1961 in Inglewood, United States. Hohensee was the first coach of the Chicago Rush, and the team began play in 2001. The Rush reached the playoffs every season under Hohensee, and won ArenaBowl XX. From 2004 to 2008, the Rush participated in four consecutive AFL Conference Championships games. They won their division in 2002 and 2007, 2007 and 2008. In 2006, Coach Ho won his 100th career win when the team beat the Las Vegas Gladiators at Allstate Arena.
When the AFL stopped play in 2009, Hohensee remained in Arena Football in Illinois. He coached the Peoria Pirates, but the team finished 5-11.
Hohensee was hired at the coach of the Philadelphia Soul on August 31, 2010. He was the team’s first head coach since the team went on hiatus together with the league as a whole following the 2008 season. The team’s last game prior to Hohensee’s hire was ArenaBowl XXII in which they defeated the San Jose SaberCats 59-56. After a 6–12 season, Hohensee resigned on July 27, 2011.
Hohensee played quarterback for the AFL’s Pittsburgh Gladiators in the 1987 and 1988 seasons before he became an Arena Football League coach. Hohensee threw the first touchdown pass ever made in AFL history.
From 1983-1984, he played for the Washington Federals, Canadian Football League’s Ottawa Rough Riders, and Toronto Argonauts in 1985. He was also a replacement player with the Chicago Bears, National Football League’s 1987 strike. Hohensee, the Washington Federals’ quarterback from 1983, is most well-known for his loss to the Oakland Invaders.
On Saturday April 28, 2007 Hohensee was hit by a car while walking in a grocery store parking lot, but still coached the Rush to a victory over the Philadelphia Soul two days later. He coached the game in the team press box with a sling around his arm.
