Mike is well-known for his use of PRS and Ibanez baritone guitars, which are tuned down to Drop G#. The second string is tuned up a half step to F#(G#D#G#C#F#A#). On some songs, Mike uses Double Drop G# (G#C#G#C#F#A#). Both companies have also made signature guitars for him. His PRS baritone PRS guitar was released in 2009. It was available in silverburst or brown sunburst finishes. The MMM1 baritone Ibanez guitar, which had a neck-thru design, was released in 2003-2007. On the Staind self-titled and debut Saint Asonia albums, he also used a seven-string custom guitar.
After Newsted disbanded in 2014, Mike joined Saint Asonia in 2015, and is still with them currently.
After that, Staind released Dysfunction in 1999 and Break the Cycle in 2001. Chapter V was released in 2005. Chapter V was released in 2005. The Singles: 1996-2006 was published in 2006.
