In 2006, she starred in ABC’s telemovie Stepfather of the Bride. From 2007–2011, she played Detective Superintendent Bernice Waverley on Channel Seven crime drama City Homicide. In 2010, she was a guest on The 7pm Project on Network Ten. In July 2011, as part of a rapidly growing internet meme, she read the book Go the Fuck to Sleep to camera in the style she formerly used on Play School. Leonie Elva “Noni” Hazlehurst AM (17 August 1953) is an Australian actress and director, writer presenter, and broadcaster who has been on radio and television, in mini-series, dramas, and television-related films, as well as appearing on stage as well in feature movies since the beginning of the 1970s. Hazlehurst was awarded numerous awards , including Australian Film Institute Awards, ARIA Awards and Logies, and was admitted into the Hall of Fame in 2016.
Hazlehurst was born in Melbourne. After her time at St Leonard’s College in Brighton East, Victoria, Hazlehurst was a Drama student and Speech at Flinders University located in South Australia from 1971 to 1973. She then lived in the Flinders University Hall in 1973. She received the bachelor of Arts degree in 1974. She studied the piano, ballet, singing as well as speech and drama. In the 1990s and 1980s the majority of her work was focused on children’s television.
