Russ Williams is one of the most popular and richest Radio Personality who was born on January 21, 1962 in United Kingdom. Russ was part ITV’s Premier League football coverage, from 2001 to 2004. He commented on edited matches and highlight goals. Between 1999 and 2002, he also presented ITV’s snooker coverage (the Nations Cup or the Champions Cup).
In late 2018, Williams appeared on Hampshire Hit Radio to cover the late-night phone-in show.
On 14 January 2019, he and Jonathan Coleman were reunited and joined Fix Radio when they started hosting their new show called The Russ & Jono Fix Radio Experience.
Williams hosted the Sky Sports TV program Soccer AM in 1995 and 1996. He also presented Sky’s live Football League coverage, when they first acquired the rights in 1996/97. He was also the announcer for ITV’s Saturday evening show Don’t Try This At Home! in 1998. In 2001, he was the event commentaryator for Channel 5’s sports show Under Pressure. This lasted only one series and ten shows.
Since 1993, Williams has been working at Virgin Radio. He started his career on Virgin Radio’s Breakfast program, first as a solo presenter, and then with Jonathan Coleman. The arrival of Chris Evans in October 1997 saw them present the Drivetime show. In 1998 Williams assumed the mid-morning show alone until he was finished in May 2015. He also hosted a show at Absolute Classic Rock, but he left the shows in May 2015. He joined TalkSport in February 2008 as the host of Kick Off.
Russ announced that he was leaving his mid-morning show on Absolute Radio on 28 April 2015 but would still continue his Saturday afternoon show for Rock and Roll Football. His last appearance on Rock and Roll Football was in May 2016. He joined Global Radio to host breakfast on Smooth Radio in March 2016 and began presenting on LBC London News later that year with his Saturday afternoon football show, Scores. He left both suddenly in 2018.
