Sam Watson is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on November 16, 1952 in Queensland, Australia. Samuel William Watson (16 November 1952 – 27 November 2019) was an Aboriginal Australian activist and a socialist politician. Through his work with the Brisbane Aboriginal Legal Service in the early nineties, Watson was involved in the implementation of the findings of Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody. As of December 9, Watson became a director deputy of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit at the University of Queensland and taught two courses on Black Australian Literature. Watson was also a writer and filmmaker. He was awarded honours for his book The Kadaitcha Sung.
Watson’s article, Blood on the Boundary which was shortlisted in the contest for the Horne Prize, was highly applauded by the judges, who noted the essay “stands out for its vigour, for its muscularity and recklessness of style. It is also very funny, in its own weird way”.
Then, in December of 2009 Watson became a director in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit at the University of Queensland and taught two courses on Black Australian Literature. Watson is also a novelist and a film maker. He was awarded his National Indigenous Writer of the Year Award in 1991 for his book The Kadaitcha Sung and acclaim for his movie Black Man Down.

Watson ran as a candidate for his party, the Socialist Alliance in the 2004 and 2007 federal elections in Queensland.
