Barjatya (born 22 February 1965) is a Indian film producer, director screenwriter, distributor, and screenwriter who primarily works with Hindi cinema. He is currently chairman of India’s 71-year old multi-national entertainment, film and media group, Rajshri Productions. The films he produces are by the Rajshri Productions banner, which was established in 1947 , by the grandfather, who died in the year of his death. Tarachand Barjatya. Barjatya has produced and directed several of the most lucrative Bollywood films and has made three films that have earned worldwide gross revenues of more than 2 billion rupees (US$28 millions). He is also called the ‘Father of Sanskaar across India.

Sooraj Barjatya was born in the Marwari Jain family in Mumbai. He was a student at St. Mary’s College in Mumbai as well as The Scindia School in Gwalior. Inspired by his paternal grandpa, Tarachand Barjatya, he directed his first film Maine Pyar Kiya for Rajshri at the tender aged of just 24. He got married to Vineeeta Barjatya 1986.
