Given the chance to play the role of villain Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th Part 2, Stavrakis did not accept the role since his co-star Savini was not interested in creating the makeup effects in the film. He instead opted to design special effect for He Knows You’re Alone, an early thriller written by Armand Mastroianni (and incidentally Tom Hanks’s first feature) With whom Stavrakis was to collaborate on the 2006 film adaptation of The Celestine Prophecy.
